Tal vez mi poema quiera ser canción
y volar desde la hoja hasta unos labios
para ser cantado o declamado

Tal vez mi poema quiera ser pintura
y estrellarse contra el lienzo
en forma de colores ordenados

O tal vez mi poema quiera ser silencio
y habitar mi mundo interior
para recrearse sin más

Maybe my poem wants to be a song
and fly from the paper to some lips
to be sung or declaimed

Maybe my poem wants to be a painting
and crash against the canvas
in the form of neat colors

Or maybe my poem wants to be just silence,
and inhabit the inner world
to recreate without further ado

    I think that a poem can be anything that it wants to be. The best poems stay in your heart, and the words come to your mind from time to time, whenever you’re happy or sad.

    1. Sometimes I really wish I could draw or sing well, but I am just not talented for that. However, I can try drawing or singing with words, which I am much better at 🙂 I could not find your blog, dear Heidi-Marie. Have a wonderful Easter Sunday.

      3. While studying Spanish poetry at the university, I read «Rimas» by Gustavo Adolfo Becquer. A verse I remember is: «Hoy la he visto, la he visto y me ha mirado. Hoy creo en Dios!»
