La luz del campanario enciende la vereda
ya rato que el sol ha dejado sus rayos olvidados
y el dulce aire acaricia las flores y las hojas
en la noche jalisciense
donde se forjan sueños de un mañana prominente.
En nuestros pasos
nos precede la esperanza que no llega
porque el que espera desespera
esperando a la esperanza sin espera.

Shared Hope For The New Year

The light from the bell tower lights up the sidewalk,
a while ago the sun has left its rays forgotten
and the sweet air caresses the flowers and the leaves
in the Jalisco night
where dreams of a prominent tomorrow are forged.
In our steps
the hope that does not arrive precedes us
because he who waits despairs
waiting for hope without waiting.
